I’ve been meaning to take in afternoon tea at one of my favorite hotels in New York City for quite some time. The Baccarat Hotel’s restaurant and bar is one of the most stunning backdrops of all the luxury hotel chains. And their afternoon tea does not disappoint.
On this lovely day there was an additional treat. Anya Cole had a fashion show in the main room to display her stunning new collection of cashmere hand knit sweaters. If you haven’t seen them, pop over to Bergdorfs and you will see what I mean.
Of course I had the Rose d’himalayan, which they call the “champagne of tea”. It is one of my favorites. The color is an wonderful goldish red, with a Rose fragrance. I also recommend the l’Opera. It is incredible. But with the Mariage Frères tea list, you can’t go wrong.
The service is typical five star hotel. But The Baccarat Hotel comes equipped with a Tea Sommelier. Gabrielle is very knowledgeable and worth going when she’s around.
